Hello eBoot Campers!

Just a quick note to say how excited I am for what’s in store for 2009!

2008 was a rough year for many and each of us has felt the effects of the struggling economy in one way or the other. I was speaking to a friend of mine this morning and we were discussing what is going to need to happen for us to turn the corner and bring our economy back to life. We both agreed that there are many different answers to that question, but one thought stood out above all the rest. That we all need to take active responsibility in driving our economy back in the right direction. That might mean doing more at work, being better consumers of health care, investing in ourselves to become more hire-able and so on.

My mission for writing eBoot Camp was to empower people to be able to “actively” participate in driving more business and increasing sales. Many of the companies I worked with in 2008 had their best year on record. Was that because they were lucky or happen to be in a pocket of the world that wasn’t feeling the negative effects of the economy? Nope. In fact, one of them was in Detroit, MI – one of the toughest economies in the Country. The difference was they didn’t become a victim of the economy. Instead, they worked harder, did more with less and learned new skills to adapt to a changing world. They refused to engage in a recession and their business has prospered.

I believe in people and I believe in small business owners. We’ve seen tough times before and we’ve persevered. 2009 will be a year where we refuse to engage in a recession and actively participate in making this a great year for us and our business.

Happy New Year and God Bless.
