I often use Google+ as an example of just how tough it is to derail the powerful locomotive that’s known as Facebook. Google had the brand, the financial backing and huge market share in the search space, but could not make a dent in the search space that sat right next door.
Why? Because Facebook boasts a billion users (only social network that can claim that) and Instagram is owned by Facebook. Together, they have tremendous market share and work extremely well together. Most industries can find many of their customers and prospects spending the majority of their ‘social’ time on one or both sites.
