Today, we’re talking about Instagram’s newest feature: Reels!  Instagram Reels allow you to record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools.

Should you be using Instagram Reels?
Not every new social media trend should be followed by everyone. It is OKAY to say no to the latest trends in social media if it does not align with your brand’s image. Sometimes it is cooler to stand alone than to join the crowd. There are too many other features of social media that you can use to market your brand rather than compromising it for the latest trend.

However, the adverse is also true. If doing Reels fits your brand and will target the audience you are trying to reach, then heck yeah, you should definitely jump on the trend!

No matter which decision is best for YOUR brand, remember that only you can determine whether or not a new trend would be best used or best avoided.  Don’t feel like you have to do it just because it is the latest craze – and everyone else seems to be doing it.

Ask yourself these questions when considering implementing Instagram Reels into your strategy:
  1. Would doing Reels be of benefit to your brand?
  2. Do Reels align with your brand’s messaging?
  3. Would a Reel compromise your voice/values?
  4. Do you feel like your should be doing Reels simply because everyone else is doing them?
