🎤Questions from the Stage

I apologize for the lengthy delay since I last emailed you! The speaking season has officially started—and boy, has it been a busy last couple of weeks. From dentists to home builders to sales leaders, I’m delivering the message that being more authentic on social media delivers better results.

I wanted to share with you a few of the takeaways that have come from questions I’ve received from the stage.

  1. What’s your take on TikTok? It depends on your audience and who you have to manage your TikTok account. If you have an audience who is south of 30, and you have someone (or a team) who understands the nuances of TikTok, it can be a very viable platform for your business. But if you’re like me, and your audience tends to be a little more ‘seasoned,’ then I prefer to stay in my lane and focus on LinkedIn and Instagram.
  2. Should we post the same content to all platforms? No. Instagram and LinkedIn are very different, and so are their users and the algorithms. For example, Instagram prefers short-form video. LinkedIn tends to see better results with written content. The topic can be the same, but the post should look different according to the platform.
  3. How about posting frequency? Should that be different depending on the platform? Frequency should also vary based on platform. With LinkedIn, less is more. Three times per week is plenty. On Instagram, the more the merrier. Daily is great—and twice a day is often common if you have the time and resources. Do what you can, but stay consistent.
  4. What about posting with 3rd party tools vs. posting natively? If you have the time, it’s always better to post directly to the platform. They want you on their real estate and reward you for it. That said, sometimes we don’t have that luxury, and that’s where 3rd party tools are so helpful. We know they get dinged a little by the algorithm, but we happily sacrifice a little algorithm juice for the time savings.

I will share more questions in a future email, but hopefully, at least one of these was a question you had on your mind as well.
